Emma is a full time Professional Triathlete, totally dedicated to achieving excellence in this gruelling multiple sports challenge.
Competing world-wide and year round in this, the world’s fastest growing outdoor sport, pleasantly necessitates following the sun so each year from April to September Emma takes up residence in the Rocky Mountains town of Boulder, Colorado USA where the fresh, high altitude makes for great fitness training. From this summer base she may travel & race anywhere in Europe or North America depending on her event schedule and the type of triathlon she plans to contest.
During October to April she resides on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast as the area has the best training facilities and climate.
From here she competes in the southern summer program, racing anywhere from South America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East or the South Pacific
Training for the sports three disciplines of 'Swim, Bike & Run’ typically consumes six hours of Emma's day, six days a week and involves pool, lake or ocean swimming, biking over mountain passes & open plains, running hinterland or beach-side trails, plus Pilate's & indoor gym training.
At this time in her career Emma mainly competes in the International Triathlon Union (ITU) governed, Olympic distance, World Cup Series comprising a consecutive 1.5k swim, 40k bike (drafting / slip-stream legal), and 10k run for which she is a Triple World Champion, Commonwealth Games Gold Medal winner and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games selected contestant.
Additionally, Emma enjoys competing in non-drafting ‘ironman’ format events over Olympic & greater distances as part of a long term strategic athletic objective.
Her aim in pursuing this amazingly strenuous lifestyle is to achieve high distinctions over all codes and distances to become the very best multi-discipline Triathlete that she can be.
